What we offer

We provide a wide range of services to help you, the author, complete your book.
You choose the services you want and we'll provide them. You can choose all or part of what we offer. You may only need a critique of what you've already written, or you may want a thorough edit of your manuscript. It's up to you.
If you choose to publish with us, we have complete book formatting and design capability. We can upload your manuscript from disk, or we can scan your printed copy into our computers.
We can also help you with Library of Congress registration and copyright registration.
We can help you contact a marketing expert to help you sell books. If you choose to market on your own, we write excellent press releases.
We'll get printing quotes for you once your book is ready to go to print, and we'll coordinate with the printing company to get your book printed.
In short, you do what you love, write, and we'll take care of the rest.
Critiquing
We'll critique your manuscript, checking for consistency, context, flow and accuracy. This is basically a quick read to see that everything fits.
Editing
We edit for grammar, syntax and punctuation. We look to please those English teachers who pick every nit.
Indexing
Not every book needs an index, but for those that do, it's essential that it's done thoroughly and accurately. Depending on the type of book -- a history, technical book or a cookbook -- we will work with you to provide the most appropriate, functional and useful index necessary.
Scanning
We'll scan text, illustrations and photographs. Where possible, we will upload your material from disk or e-mail, as it is less expensive, but when necessary we will happily scan in your typed copy and other original work.
Book formatting and design
We use QuarkXPress for our book formatting and design. We find that this works well with most commercial printing companies. We have both Macintosh and PCs and can communicate with most software programs.
Book Registration
If you are interested in getting your book into libraries, registration with the Library of Congress is helpful. Copyright registration is for your protection. We can help you with either of these.
Illustrators
We do not have an illustrator on our staff. If you are in need of an illustrator, we have a list of illustrators and samples of their work. If you already have an illustrator you prefer working with, we'd be happy to coordinate with them.
Printers
We will contact commercial printing presses, get quotes from them and coordinate the printing of your book.
Marketing
We do not have a marketing department. We can put you in contact with marketing experts who will help you in this area.
If you choose to market your book on your own, we can write press releases to aid you in your endeavor.
Fulfillment Services
We are offering fulfillment services to self-publishing authors. Our focus area is northern Colorado and southeastern Wyoming.
We charge 35% of the book price. For clients of Ink & Scribe, the charge is 25% of the book price.
Taxes, shipping and handling are not included in the book price. These will be paid by the buyer and processed by Ink & Scribe.
